Facebook Texas Holdem

One of the top social networking sites on the planet is Facebook. With Facebook, you can find old friends, keep in touch with new ones, and even find your soulmate. A common feature on the website is applications. Applications on Facebook range from quizzes, to games, and even daily horoscope readings. Did you know that you can even play live poker on Facebook? There are several Facebook poker applications available that will allow you to play against any of literally millions of players around the world. Let’s take a look at a couple of the better applications.

The most popular Facebook poker application in the world is Zynga poker on Facebook. This application has an amazing 17 Million users per month that play on this site. What this means is that at any time there are over 100,000 players playing poker with this one application. If you are a NL Holdem player, this is definitely an application you want to use.

When you load the software, you will notice that the site offers both cash games and tournaments. The tournaments are primarily sit n go events that range from $20 up to a $100,000 buy-in. Cash games are all Texas Holdem and feature either nine-handed or five-handed tables. Blinds can start off as small as $1-$2 and work their way to an astounding $1 Million – $2 Million.

Graphic on this site are not the best in the industry, but they are functional. The tables and cards tend to be a bit on the small size, and there isn’t a feature to resize the table. Game speed is pretty standard compared to other flash poker sites so this will definitely fit the bill for poker excitement. There are also cutesy features that allow you to buy items from a virtual “gift shop” that can be used in the game. These include drinks, cigarettes, and even “live entertainment”

The caliber of play at this site is very loose at most every level, including high stakes. A solid player should be able to build up lots of virtual chips. However, the site gives you all kinds of options to get free chips, including a daily lottery that just gives you from 500 to 20,000 chips at random. You also get chips for completing tasks, achieving new ranks, and sometimes just at random. For example, you may “find” chips and if you post on your profile that you found these chips, you get a reward if one of your friends claim them. This site can work much like a poker RPG game at times, so try it out and have fun.

Texas Holdem Pro is a great option for those of you that want to play Facebook Texas Holdem. This site offers a very simple design but also offers a nice spread of games for a free site. On this site you can play Limit Holdem, Pot-Limit Holdem, and NL Texas Holdem. Upon loading the site, you will notice a very simple background that looks like a wood floor. You then will notice that you have choices for either cash games or tournaments.

Cash games start as low as $3-$6 Limit Holdem and work their way all the way up to $1000-$2000 NL or PL Holdem. Tables in cash games are either six-handed or ten-handed. The tournaments on this website are all sit n go tournaments and they offer them in either five-handed or the customary ten-handed variety. Buy-ins start at $50 and go up to $10,000.

Graphics on this site are very simplistic during game play, but the site runs very fast compared to other poker applications on Facebook. Card are relatively easy to see and betting controls are very easy to use. Also, while you are playing, you have the option to partake in quests on the site. These quests give you goals to achieve while playing. They don’t win you anything, but they can be a lot of fun.

The quality of play at this site borders on plain bad from what we have seen. For example, a pot was capped four way at the river during a game and a single pair won the hand with straight, flush, and even full house possibilities out. Of course, remember that playing at this or any Facebook poker site is for free money and intended for entertainment only. A reasonable player will build up chips without problem.

The above were two of the better Facebook Texas Holdem applications on Facebook. Do a search on the site for more options, but honestly, there really aren’t many that outdo the two above sites. When you play at these sites, expect to take your share of bad beats as these are freebie players and many will take a lottery approach. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy playing free Facebook poker.
